This school year was filled with exciting new partnerships. Our first full year of Girls on the Run, was a complete success. Our young ladies learned valuable life lessons, as well as, the importance of physical fitness. Each of the coaches were great to work with. They handled themselves professionally and really took a great interest in our students. We look forward to a great second season!

Our STEM partnership with the NY Academy of Science was also a great success. Our children learned about genetics and biology. The instructors for this program really took their time in explaining the process of genetics to our students, and they also provided interactive exercises and activities to keep their audience focused. Due to the importance of STEM learning in the 21st century workforce, we will continue our partnership with the Academy and explore ways to branch out to other topics.

Yorkville Common Pantry taught our students about nutrition, the various food groups and their importance to our growth and health. Booker T. students also learned to prepare nutritional meals that are inexpensive to create at home. Most importantly, many Booker T. families were afforded the opportunity to shop at their local pantry for groceries.
Throughout the school year we continued partnerships with the Diller-Quaile School of Music, Junior Navigators, Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church through L.E.A.P., ACCESS/GED Plus-Good Shepherd Services, St. Bernards School, All Souls Church and Church of the Resurrection.
A special thanks to all our partners, volunteers, parents and staff for helping Booker T. so much throughout the school year. We could not have done it without your hard work, patience and steadfast dedication.
Thank you all.
